Histology and molecular biology can effectively predict response to cancer treatments and personalize cancer care. But diagnosis contains critical elements, one of them is the quality of tissue specimen whereupon the tests are performed. Quality means enough representative and fresh tissue. Here is a comparison between the largest trucut needle (14 G – on the left) and Spirotome (10 G). The weight of the trucut sample is 15 mg while that of the Spirotome 300 mg. The Spirotome sample contains over 95% living cells. The technique was mastered after one training course. The comfort to the patient is excellent. Based on these characteristics and by entering Japan, the Spirotome from Bioncise NV is now globally available (www.bioncise.com).
Spirotome enters Japan in April 2020
